Introducing Team Estonia's Paris 2024 Uniforms

Embracing the principles of a circular economy, the new Team Estonia Collection aims to reduce the growing amount of textile waste and combat global warming. The collection, designed by Estonian fashion designer Reet Aus, was created for the Paris 2024 Olympic Summer Games, and crafted from 100% recycled materials.

A commitment to sustainability and circular design

Team Estonia's Collection for the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics has been designed by Estonian designer, Reet Aus, in partnership with the Estonian Olympic Committee (EOK).

The collection represents a groundbreaking shift in Olympic apparel, featuring uniform that has a commitment to complete transparency and all designed to reduce environmental impact. The garments achieve remarkable reductions in water usage, energy consumption, and CO2 emissions compared to products made from virgin materials, and underscores the team's dedication to advancing the circular economy within the textile industry.

By utilizing recycled materials, the Team Estonia Collection champions environmental responsibility and sustainability on the global stage.

Recycled denim with an impact

Each piece in the collection is made from 100% recycled denim, including 50% Recover™ recycled cotton from post-industrial waste blended with 50% TENCEL™ Lyocell REFIBRA™ fiber. It features pieces for men and women, including t-shirts, denim jeans, denim shorts, jackets, a long skirt and a tote bag.

Produced from textile waste that would have otherwise ended up in landfills or been incinerated, the 100% recycled denim items use 98% less water in production compared to denim made from raw materials.

Traceability and transparency

The collection aims to create truly circular products through a process that also involves transparency and transparency.

Each product in the collection comes with a Digital Product Passport through a QR code, providing full transparency of the whole lifecycle of the garment, including information on the manufacturing process, environmental impact, and guidance on repair, reuse, upcycling, and recycling.

About Reet Aus

Reet Aus is an Estonian fashion designer, environmental activist, and researcher known for her work in sustainable fashion. She is a pioneer in the field of upcycling, which involves creating new garments from pre-existing materials and waste. Aus holds a PhD in sustainable fashion design and has developed the Upmade® certification, a method that helps brands produce clothing from leftover fabrics, thus reducing waste.
